The Central Region provides a variety of continuing education and training opportunities for Extension volunteers.  Utilize the links below to obtain detailed information about Supper Seminars, which are suitable for all volunteers, or select a specialized area of training opportunities specifically designed for 4-H, Master Gardener, Board Member, Advisory Leader, Well Owner, or Forestry Steward volunteers.

Volunteer Training

Supper Seminars are open to Extension Volunteers in all program areas.  They are held on weeknights in a casual atmosphere.  Because of the proximity to the dinner hour, volunteers are encouraged to bring a snack or light meal. Click the Supper Seminars navigation button for more information.

Advanced Training  Opportunities for Master Gardeners

If you are a Penn State Master Gardener and would like to view a list of upcoming advanced training opportunities, please log in to the e-data system where you will be able to find details and register for training and other events.

e-Learning Opportunities for 4-H Volunteers

A series  of four interactive online modules entitled About 4-H, Positive Youth Development, Getting Started with 4-H, and Leadership and Teaching.  The modules focus on material and resources all 4-H leaders need and provide an excellent introduction for new leaders as well as a useful refresher for current volunteers.

e-data System Now Available to Volunteers

The e-data system was developed in response to requests from Volunteers and Extension staff members.  It is designed not only to make recordkeeping easier and more efficient, but to cut down on operational costs such as paper and postage and enhance communication. Volunteers will be able to use the online e-data system to register for events or educational programs, record their activities, submit photographs, obtain information, communicate with each other, and much more.

Volunteers have an opportunity to try out the new e-data system in early 2009.  The statewide transition to e-data will begin on October 1, 2009.  Design and development of the e-data system is being coordinated by Central Region Volunteer Development Educator Debra Burrows.

Volunteers are encouraged to try out the new e-data system at:

 http://extension.psu.edu/cnregion/edata/default.htm

We are very interested in receiving suggestions from volunteers about ways to improve and enhance e-data.  If you have a suggestion, please send it to us at this e-mail address.  We really want to hear from you!
